On the 20th of October, 2022, the Gozo Business Chamber organised its second conference on ‘Ethics in Business’ which this year focused on ‘Development and Self-Interest’.
The keynote speech was delivered by Daniel Darmanin, president of the Justice and Peace Commission and coordinator of the local chapter of the Centesimus Annus Foundation. He spoke on the effect of development on our quality of life and the need to stop and reflect on the kind of society we want to live in. He also emphasized the importance of values both in the business and political spheres, without which everything risks collapsing.
Concluding the conference, Bishop Anton Theuma invited participants and everyone in society to reflect on our duties and responsibilities. The only way we can bring about change, according to Bishop Theuma, is through the kind of formation and awareness which lead us to take action now.
The ‘Ethics in Business’ Conference was also supported by the Gozo Diocese, the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation and Bank of Valletta.
